hi Mr Blay,

how about this?

you make a cash game place, 6 seats....open/available 24/7 like a drop-in place

$1/2 - buy in $200 - all who join get...no rebuys so is incentive play sensible as your max in this game is $200 a day

gives opportunity for APT friends to play cards against each other and socialize too

you have the software, this type of drop-in thing gives us a chance to play together outside the super long MTT 30+ players tournie stuff

just link it on the Social menu

i sure in time regular games will develop at certain times and give warlock et al, chance say ok smart ass Krista lets play at 4pm hahaha and i sure others get familiar with opportunities and develop like own "home games"

perhaps APT is also a community where we also learn from each other and develop poker friendships?

i think it would be positive, there are so many brilliant players in APT and much we can learn from them and each other, in addition to the robots and other brilliant offerings....

and I think business wise people find it a good thing and remain member cause of it

please consider ok?

Krista

We REALLY NEED this. I would suggest full ring table so both 6 max and full ring can happen.

    PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE do this.

    Thank you,

Hey guys, we've definitely discussed this a bunch and plan to launch it, most likely near the end of September. We have hesitated because we can't just open it up and let it go. We were really waiting for a certain critical mass in the tournaments that made us think it was sustainable. What we have found in the past is we get a ton of interest in certain features and then when we launch them, they get used for a couple weeks and then people move on to the next feature. Once we launch the cash game live, we have to pay attention to it constantly. It isn't like a tournament where a couple times a day we see how many people are playing it, etc. If there isn't a critical mass of people playing (and I'm not sure we will have that), it just becomes a burden that takes time away from developing the features we really specialize in.

The other concern that we have always had with this is that it takes away from training time. If you're sitting and playing a cash game (slowly) against human opponents, you're playing 1/10 the number of hands at most that you could with the game. Plus, you don't get analyzed and don't get training plans based on it. So if the purpose of our site is getting better at poker faster than you can by playing in slow games against humans, a feature like this goes against our philosophy in poker improvement.

But we're going to give it a shot and see how it goes. I just hope it is used as a supplement and doesn't take away from your poker training activities.

Having played on play money sites, it will be useless if you dont limit buy-ins to 1 or 2 a day as Krista suggested. There is always the 1% that will sit and shove every hand.

I can also make an educated guess as to how and when it will be used. Poker is played for real and play money in the evenings and weekends. People have other business to attend to during the day.
Unless you are Pstars that has global reach and volume so that it is always evening somewhere.

It will definitely be a balancing act. The tournaments haven't had that problem. They are much, much better than typical free money tourneys. I also like the idea of limiting buyins to prevent bad behavior. We will definitely look into it as an option.

Right now my biggest concern is that we won't have enough people playing them, so limiting buyins might be counterproductive for the time being.

    Hi Mr Blay

i agree with highfive, that a limited rebuy or buy-in would be incentive to play properly without it become a all-in shove fest, without consequences...

i think the biggest challenge is for members to know when a game is happening, that there are open chairs...

i not sure what a simple solution that is?

maybe a separate thread on forum that if i subscribe that would get email notification... "Hi I am at cash table looking for a game"

No trophies, no tracking results, standings etc so keep your need maintain down? Maybe appoint some regulars like highfive and warlock, volunteer moderators to keep eye on?

Important I think that members also know if a chair is open they always welcome play... it not something when a few friends go play is closed to others

i excited for this ... so many brilliant APT members and would love opportunity play them where it no cost me $55 to play that level of player lol

I excited can you tell? Krista does happy dance

maybe if go bust cant rebuy for 10-15 minutes?

or maybe too complicated but i would be willing pay $1-2 to rebuy if go broke that day and run out of my 200

Definitely couldn't do the paying thing, then we would be gambling.

I actually have no clue what we can do with the software since it isn't ours. We probably have some ability to limit things, but that is something I'll worry about later.

I totally agree about the limited rebuy or buy-in. I am grinding my training hard and would actually look at this for the social aspect as well as trying some new things out.
