question on PokerStars is a new thing ShowTime... is it wise as a beginner to play that version?

Not if you are interested in becoming a better player. Novel idea but I'd stick to games without the gimmicks. I can't tell precisely how it will impact the game but I'd think it will create some pretty major distortions. IMO, better to grind out the micro-stakes and move up the traditional way. If you are looking to build a bankroll, I'd look into the 9-handed SnG's as a good place to start.

I think it is a really cool concept that will benefit experienced players at the expense of less experienced players. Stars has been pushing the idea of reading opponent tendencies, but an equally important side of this is how it can materially affect odds calculations for drawing hands. The better players will automatically take the info into account, but the less experienced won't be able to so that. Similarly, I expect that newer players will feel pressure to avoid looking bad and will play a bit wildly to look wild instead of bad.
Bottom line is I agree with @1warlock that you are better off avoiding this game unless you are an experienced player.
Excellent points @AllenBlay - I was running through it in my head and thinking of how I would play if I saw all the dead cards. I didn't see if the cards folded preflop were shown or only those that saw the flop. If all cards are shown then its a fiesta for better players. You'd be able to narrow ranges so quickly that it would be hard for inexperienced players to counter just the information their preflop folds gave away. Better players would instantly know whether they could set-mine with certain pocket-pairs or play some drawing hands or not just based on what was mucked before them. Better players would 3-bet and raise weaker ones just for information on what they will and will not fold in any situation and use that information to exploit the weaker players very quickly.
Speaking of information, I don't know if @kristak is playing online cash games yet or not but if she is just starting, there is a major consideration to make when deciding where to play. Almost all sites make having a good HUD a necessity. You can either make the investment up front and become familiar with it (at the lowest possible stakes) or you can go to a site that has anonymous tables, like Ignition. Some people may find learning several things all at once to be a bit much and therefore may want to forego a HUD to concentrate on their game. That's fine but I wouldn't do that on a site where I'm the only one not using one. For that reason I recommend places like Ignition to start. If you decide you want to continue with your poker journey, then you can get a HUD and play wherever you want.
Thank You so much for greattttttt answers - hugs
