I am new to the site (about 3 months) and I am liking it more and more. One thing that I am really starting to appreciate is how realistic it is compared to a "real (live)" game. At first my thinking was that all of the BOTS needed to be these super-tough opponents, but now I am understanding that by making the BOTS tough, but imperfect (and each imperfect in its own, special way) they more closely resemble the humans we play against.
At that point three things happen (1) we get to play in a game that to a large extent resembles the live games that we play in, (2) we get to practice the methods that we can use to exploit the various weaknesses that our opponents have, and, (3) we get to iron-out our own mistakes (i.e. the Training Plan). By having a choice of many different games and player types we can move up the ladder to the point where the opponents are super-tough but along the way we can choose between a game that tends to be tight or one that is looser.
I have to admit that I am looking forward to October because I think some new and exciting improvements are in store.
Thank you and please keep up the good work.

I just upgraded my membership to life member. Since I joined late last year I've enjoyed many hours of poker practice against the bots, and a number of tournaments against fellow subscribers.
A membership here has all the features of an online university course. You have forum discussions, lesson plans, assignments, videos, guest experts, feedback on your performance... everything except a final exam. A membership here would be worth the money even if I never put my training to practical use and treated it only as an engaging video game and social media experience. You can pay $75 or more for some computer games.. and not get the social media experience, permanent support, and upgrades you get here.
To put things in perspective, the cost of a life membership here is a fraction of the expenses I usually incur in just one trip out to Vegas. I am sure to soon recoup my investment when I win a small tournament prize that will nevertheless be bigger than the cost of a life membership on APT, as a direct result of my training here.
Guys, it makes me very happy to hear your comments. We built this site based on what we thought we would want in a fun poker training game, and then have continued to add on based on the feedback from all of you, other poker players like us. I can assure you that we will continue to develop the site and add on features and we really appreciate the kind words!
I have a question on the Life Membership: If I were to upgrade now, would there be any pro-ration for the unused portion of my current membership?
We offer a discount on the life membership for current members if you click the upgrade membership button.
But sure, shoot me an email (or use the contact form if you don't have my email) and we can work something out.
Thanks Allen. No need to do anything special. I am very pleased with the product. I am on a project that will keep me tied down for the next 2 weeks. Once that is done I plan on going to the Life Membership.
