2022 WSOP

The WSOP is Back!

Spread the word and share this article

Last week the World Series of Poker organization announced that the 2021 WSOP will be held live at the Rio All Suites Resort and Casino this fall. The series will run from September 30 through November 23rd. While little other information was released at this time, the poker world responded with great excitement.

In addition to these dates, the WSOP announced that the Main Event will run from November 4 through November 17th. The WSOP also indicated that the opening week would include a charity event to benefit frontline health workers, and a $5 million guaranteed No-Limit Hold’em event called “The Reunion”. The WSOP indicated that further details would be forthcoming “this summer”.

Other WSOP Announcements

The WSOP Europe will tentatively return to return to King’s Casino in Rozvadov. This series would run from Friday, Nov. 19 through Tuesday, Dec. 8.

The World Series of Poker will also hold an online series of events this summer. WSOP.com will hold these tournaments on its All-American Poker Network beginning Thursday, July 1. They will finish with a $1,000 buy in championship event.

Las Vegas Will Be the Place To Be in October

Immediately in the wake of the announcement, hotel rooms and long-term rentals began filling up for the month of October. We also imagine that other Las Vegas casinos will begin to plan fall series as well. Last month Planet Hollywood announced a yet-to-be-determined delay in their Goliath series which normally runs over the summer. We strongly suspect that it will be now rescheduled to coincide with the October WSOP. Here’s hoping that other major series which normally happen during the summer at venues such as the Golden Nugget and the Orleans will align as well.

Fall is shaping up to be a great time to visit Las Vegas!
